If you're willing to use the metro to get to Crocus Expo, then the 30-minute ride to/from Smolenskaya gives you access to a much greater range of hotels. The Golden Ring, located opposite Smolenskaya Metro Station, is among the best-value deluxe hotels in Moscow, somewhat lacking in character but comfortably fitted and very well equipped, with full five-star leisure and business facilities. This standard hotel on the grounds of the Mitino Radiomarket, around two kilometers from Crocus Expo, is inexpensive, reasonably well equipped with business and leisure facilities, and provides clean, air-conditioned accommodation. The staff also work hard to welcome foreign guests. However, while Russians generally give the hotel good reviews, foreigners tend to find the hotel and the area around a little depressing. The trip by metro to Crocus Expo from Kiev Railway Station is exactly 30 minutes, so the Radisson Slavyanskaya, located a few steps from the station, is also a reasonable option for expo delegates. Opened in 1991 as Moscow's first western luxury hotel, the Slavyanskaya has slipped a little since its heyday and now positions itself as a four-star business hotel. In this role it is more than satisfactory, with slightly dated interiors made up for excellent conferencing and leisure facilities, including 25-meter indoor pool and a wide range of quality dining options. »»»
