As a regular visitor to the Academy of Sciences, which is close to the hotel, I have stayed in the Sputnik several times over the last decade. It is getting better, and rooms are not the fright they used to be, although quite small. Service has not improved as much, however. Look at it on the bright side, it's a chance to practice your Russian. What I always look forward to is the truly delicious Indian food at the Darbar Restaurant. If the hotel is only OK, then the restaurant is fantastic!
