Domodedovo International airport is nearly 70km from the Ast-Hof, and around 90 minutes' drive even in light traffic. For those who do not with to take a taxi or pre-order an airport transfer, the Aeroexpress rail link runs from the airport to Paveletsky Station in central Moscow. Trains leave hourly from 7am to 12am, and every half-hour at peak times, and the ride takes just over 40 minutes. From Paveletskaya Metro Station, take the brown circle line three stops anti-clockwise to Kievskaya Station, and change to the pale-blue line. Travel west four stops to Bagrationovskaya, which is around 700m from the Ast-Hof Hotel.

It is a little over 20km from Vnukovo Airport to the Ast-Hof Hotel. By taxi or pre-booked transfer the journey takes around 30 minutes. Which visitor attractions are located near the hotel?
Although the Ast-Hof Hotel is some distance from the centre of Moscow, the area surrounding the hotel is rich in monuments celebrating Russia's military history. A little under 1km from the hotel, Victory Park was laid out in the 1980s to celebrate victory in the World War Two. Among its impressive avenues and monuments, the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War has a huge collection of military memorabilia. The entrance to the park is through a reconstruction of the Triumphal Arch originally built by Osip Bove in 1834 to commemorate the routing of Napoleon's forces. Just next to it, the Borodino Panorama Museum contains a 115m depiction of the historic battle that saw Napoleon's advance into Russia halted. |
