I stayed at the Altai for three nights in July and it was satisfactory. In fact, I was surprised how nice the room was - much better condition than the lobby and reception area. My one reservation was the location. Not just because it's not in the city centre, which is reasonably easy to access by metro, but because there is almost nothing around the hotel - no restaurants or cafes, and no shops even.

This hotel was not cheap enough for the quality on offer. My Superior Room was fine, and quite spacious for a single, but there was nothing else in the hotel that really lived up to three-star standards. Few of the staff speak English, and combined with their attitude that makes it difficult to get any help. Overall, I wouldn't really recommend this place unless there's nothing else available.
