Nearest metro: Belorusskaya, Mayakovskaya
Although located some 3 km from The Kremlin, the Sheraton Palace Hotel stands on one of the city's main thoroughfares, just two blocks outside the Garden Ring road and a short distance from Belorussky Railway Station. Tverskaya-Yamskaya Ulitsa provides easy direct access south east to Moscow's major downtown attractions and north west to the city's Sheremetevo-2 International Airport. The nearest metro station is Belorusskaya, less than a 10 minute-walk away.
Just one metro stop away from the Sheraton guests will find the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, home to the Russian State Symphony Orchestra and hosting regular classical music concerts. Not far from the hotel also lies the old Moscow Hippodrome, for generations the gambling ground for those Muscovite fans of horse racing and now a rather dilapidated shadow of its former adrenaline-filled self.
Places of interest surrounding the Sheraton also include the impressive Dinamo Sports Stadium, home to one of Russia's oldest football clubs, the history of which you can explore in the Dinamo Musuem, situated in front of the north stand.
Adjacent to the stadium hotel guests will find the beautiful Petrovsky Palace, built in the early 19th Century at the command of Catherine the Great as an Imperial resting place on the road to St. Petersburg. The building's stunning red brick and white masonry facade provided a fashionable backdrop, against which the 19th Century Muscovite social elite paraded their new carriages and took long decadent picnics on the grass. |
