Peking Hotel

The Tchaikovskay Concert Hall is very near to the Peking Hotel. This grand venue is one of the best places to hear classical music in the city as both the Moscow Philharmonic and the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra play in this venue. In front of the concert hall stands a magnificent statue of Vladimir Mayakovsky, the greatest poet of the Soviet period.

The All-Russian Museum of Applied Art is only about 15 minutes from the Peking Hotel. This little known museum is a great place to absorb some of the craft-work of Russia. Folk art, antique lacquer miniatures, Faberge jewelry, and porcelain from the 19th and 20th centuries are all on display. This is a great place for fans of traditional Russian crafts.

The central location of the Peking Hotel means that a 30-minute walk will put you on Red Square. This trip can be accomplished via the historic and grand Ulisa Petrovka and Ulitsa Bolshaya Dmitrovka or by walking down Tverskaya Ulitsa, the main artery to the city.
