Fine hotel but I was unlucky with Wi-Fi

Liked the location and service, but was disappointed by poor WiFi quality. My test result at Hotel WiFi Test is 1.8Mbps

"Superb in all aspects"

We stayed at the National in August 2009. We found it to be superb in all aspects. Very professional and capable staff.

Comfortable and Good Value

This is an extremely well located hotel right opposite the Kremlin and represents very good value for money and a faded slice of history. However it is not a five star hotel to compare, say, with the Kempinski, Hyatt, Ritz Carlton (which is next door), Swisshotel etc. I travel on business so don't get the Kremlin view rooms at the front. The rooms at the back are quite spacious with a little sitting area and a meeting table. Plain but comfortable. The bathrooms are very small. The public rooms are a bit hit and miss. The bar is an awful cold conservatory whereas the breakfast room on the first floor is very grand with a view across to the Kremlin. Breakfast itself however is only just acceptable at these prices. There is a basic gym and health club with, incredibly, a small swimming pool. Staff are efficient but I wouldn't say more than that. Overall I rather like this hotel it has a certain genuine charm and is really very good value for Moscow.

Best hotel in town

Stayed twice in the last 12 months, and I must say it is a really top class hotel. The staff are mostly superb (the exception being at breakfast), and the comfort is wonderful. Suites are very nice, and vary in size, and the regular rooms are pretty good too

We stayed in the National Hotel in 2003 and plan to return in 2006. I would not consider staying anywhere else. It is a beautiful hotel situated perfecly in the heart of Moscow. The staff were extremely polite and helpful and the food in all of the restaurants was wonderful. I cannot wait to return this summer.

We had the great pleasure of staying at the National for New Year 2002/2003. The hotel is absolutely first class and the staff likewise. What a thrill to sit and have breakfast overlooking the Kremlin and what a breakfast - also the food overall in the hotel is excellent. What a way to see the New Year in other than in Red Square - it is our absolute favourite winter place for us in the world and we hope to return this December. Also the Gum Department Store, St Basils the Churches cafes - I could go on for ever. If you ever have the chance do stay at the National.

Real luxuruos hotel, extraordinary service at the beauty salon Guerlain, best price/quality ratio, just outstanding after and before a long flight.

Magnifique! Wonderful site for a hotel, opposite Kremlin and in the very centre of the town. Beautiful suites. Very luxurious.
