Molodyozhny Hotel

The development of the area around the hotel happened mostly in the 1980s, so there are few historic buildings in the immediate area. Timiryazevsky Park, formerly a nobleman's estate, is only 15 minutes from the hotel. Once an English-style landscape garden, it is now sadly rather neglected, and the mansion is closed to the public.

Of much more interest to visitors, Ostankino, which can be reached on foot in around 20 minutes from the Molodyozhny, was once an estate of the Sheremetev family, and has a beautifully preserved 19th century wooden palace that now houses a museum of traditional Russian arts and crafts. Nearby, Moscow's soaring TV tower is an impressive modern structure that has played a central role in Russia's recent history.
