Medea Hotel

The Medea Hotel enjoys a superb location near the Moscow River and just south of the city’s most popular tourist attractions, including the Kremlin and Red Square. Guests can easily reach both of these sights on foot in approximately 15 minutes. Alternatively, the Medea is less than five minutes' walk from the Novokuznetskaya Metro Station, allowing guests to quickly reach any location of interest in the city.

The Tretyakov Gallery is located less than one kilometer from the Medea Hotel and is considered one of the largest and best collections of Russian art, rivaled only by the Russian Museum in Saint Petersburg. The museum’s collection was started in 1856 by Pavel Tretyakov, who opened the gallery in 1892 for the public. Today, the Tretyakov Gallery holds 130,000 pieces ranging from prominent icons to Russian art of the present era.

The hotel is set in the Zamoskvorechye district, which historically was home to Moscow's wealthy merchant class. There are a number of lovely parish churches in this area, including the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Kadashi. The church was built between 1687-1695 and features Moscow Baroque architecture and design, incorporating a bellower and several golden cupolas.
