Medea Hotel in Moscow, Russia

Why stay here?

  • Near the Tretyakov Gallery
  • Residential atmosphere
  • Elegant Art Nouveau interiors
  • Rooms with kitchen facilities

Although not among Moscow's best known hotels, the Medea is highly rated by guests for its peaceful, relaxed atmosphere and secluded but very central location. Opened in 2005, the Medea Hotel occupies an attractive four-story building that dates back to 1860 and was originally a wealthy merchant's private mansion. The Medea Hotel's simple interiors go some way to recreating the building's historic atmosphere, with some Art Nouveau detailing and elegant reproduction furniture. The results are attractive and welcoming, and the Medea exudes an atmosphere of comfort, peace and privacy.

The Medea Hotel offers 21 rooms and suites, most of which are more like small apartments, with basic self-catering facilities. All have individually controlled air-conditioning and complimentary wired and wireless Internet access. The hotel also offers a full-service restaurant and basic concierge services, but little else in the way of extra services or amenities.

The Medea Hotel is well situated for sightseeing, with the Kremlin and Red Square just over a kilometer away. The hotel is also very close to Novokuznetskaya Metro Station, making it possible to access every corner of the city reasonably quickly.
