On balance I liked the Royal Aurora a lot, although I was scandalized by some of the prices at first. I knew the rates would be high, but the prices in the restaurants and bars were absurd. Still, the hotel had a fantastic location, and it was easy to find plenty of great restaurants in the neighborhood. I really recommend Barashka, a very smart Azerbaijani place just up the road on Ulitsa Petrovka.
