Nearest metro: Rizhskaya
The Holiday Inn Moscow Suschevsky is situated a short distance north of Moscow's city center (about 4.5km from the Kremlin) in an area that mixes modern and Stalinist architecture, and is dominated by the beautiful Rizhsky Station, about 200m from the hotel.
The nearest metro station, Rizhskaya, is attached to the mainline station and only five minutes' walk from the Holiday Inn. From Rizhskaya it is only four stops (eight minutes' journey time) to Kitai-Gorod, close to Red Square in the very center of Moscow.
Rizhsky Station serves few intercity trains now, although there are still daily services to Riga. Moscow's other mainline stations are all within 40 minutes' drive of the Holiday Inn Moscow Suschevsky.
Sheremetyevo Airport is a little over 23km from the Holiday Inn, and the drive between the airport and the hotel will take 30-50 minutes. Vnukovo Airport is around 33km (or 50-70 minutes' drive) from the hotel, while Domodedovo is the furthest from the hotel – 47km or 70-90 minutes by car. |

The greatest attraction in the immediate vicinity of the Holiday Inn Suschevsky is the beautiful building of the Rizhsky ("Riga") Station, about 200m from the hotel. Opened in 1901 and designed by Stanislav Brzhozovsky, who was also responsible for the equally elegant Vitebsky Station in St. Petersburg, the Rizhsky Station is a masterpiece of Style Moderne architecture, combining the then-fashionable pan-European style with specifically Russian elements. Due to the low traffic through the station, there are plans afoot to transform the building into a railway museum in the next few years.
Within 1km of the Holiday Inn Moscow Suschevsky, there are three historic park: Sokolniki Park, Ekaternininsky Gardens, and the Moscow State University Botanical Gardens. Also close to the hotel is the Olympic Stadium, which was at the center of the 1980 Olympic Games, and is still used for major sporting and entertainment events. |
