HOME HELIOPARK EMPIRE HOTEL LOCATIONS AND DIRECTIONS |
Nearest metro: Belorusskaya
The Heliopark Empire Hotel is located next to Belorusskiy Station in the north of Moscow's downtown. The hotel is just off Tverskaya-Yamskaya Ulitsa, the northern section of Tverskaya Ulitsa, Moscow's central avenue, which runs from opposite Red Square out of the city to Sheremetyevo Airport, and on to the cities of Tver, Novgorod and St. Petersburg.
The nearest metro station to the hotel, Belorusskaya, is less than five minutes' walk away, and from there it is only two stops to Teatralnaya, for Red Square and the Bolshoi Theatre. The mainline station serves trains to/from Minsk, Kaliningrad, Warsaw, Prague, and Berlin. Moscow's other mainline stations can all be reached by taxi in less than 30 minutes from the Heliopark Empire Hotel.
Sheremetyevo Airport is around 24km from the Heliopark Empire, and the drive to/from the airport will take 30-50 minutes. Domodedovo, to the south of Moscow, is around 45km from the hotel, with a journey time of 60-90 minutes. Vnukovo is about 28km from the Heliopark Empire, and guests should allow 40-60 minutes for the journey. |
 | Local sightseeing |
The area around the Heliopark Empire Hotel is not particularly rich in visitor attractions, with most of Tverskaya Ulitsa's sights and best shops located at the southern end of the street. The main sight of interest within walking distance of the hotel may well be Belorusskiy Station itself. Like most of Moscow's mainline stations, it is a remarkable architectural monument, built in 1870 in the Russian Revival style. The station also contains a small museum.
About 15 minutes walk from the Heliopark will bring guests to Triumphalnaya Ploshchad, an impressive square featuring fine examples of Stalinist neoclassical architecture and dominated by a monumental statue of the great Soviet poet Vladimir Mayakovsky. Also on the square is the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, home to the Symphony Orchestra of Russia, and one of Moscow's premier venues for live classical music. |
