Buses 103, 130, 187, 260, and trolleybus 34 currently follow the route, and the stop for the hotel is Ploshchad Indiry Ghandi. From Universitet, it is a 15-minute ride to Biblioteka im. Lenina, which is right next to the Kremlin in the very centre of Moscow.

The Universitetskaya is reasonably convenient for Vnukovo Airport, which is only 20km from the hotel. The drive to/from the airport should take 30-40 minutes. Quick access to the Moscow Ring Road also means that Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo Airport are both about one hour's drive away.

Local Sightseeing

The main visitor attraction near the Universitetskaya is, of course, the main campus of Moscow State University, a little less than 20 minutes' walk from the hotel. The most prestigious university in Russia, it is centered around perhaps the most famous of the Seven Sisters, the extraordinary Stalinist neo-gothic skyscrapers that marked the apogee of Moscow's post-war redevelopment. Lev Rudnev's truly monumental building was the tallest in Europe from its completion in 1953 until 1990. Although there is no access to the impressive interiors, it is well worth wandering round the outside through the formal gardens, and enjoying the impressive views over central Moscow from the Sparrow Hills on the northern side of the university. Just to the west of the main building are the Moscow State University Botanical Gardens, although access is only on guided tours.
