Most of Moscow's major attractions, including the Kremlin and Red Square, are easily accessible from the Tatiana Hotel by public transport. Closer to the hotel, the biggest attractions are the Danilov and Novospasskiy Monasteries, two of a chain of fortified monasteries that surrounded medieval Moscow. Both have been substantially restored, and contain numerous gems of Russian church architecture.
On the way to or from Paveletsky Station, it is worth checking out the Lenin Funerary Train, just east of the main building in a small pavilion. The display includes the impressive steam locomotive which carried Vladimir Lenin's body into Moscow for his funeral, as well as other memorials to the Father of the Revolution.
