How do I get from the hotel to the Tretyakov Gallery?

The main collections of the Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow's renowned museum of Russian art, are housed in the museum's historic home on Lavrushinskiy Pereulok, about 1km to the south of the Ritz Carlton Hotel across the Moskva River. The easiest way to reach the Tretyakov is to take the metro from Teatralnaya Metro Station (less than five minutes' walk from the hotel) and travel south one stop on the dark-green line to Novokuznetskaya. Exit the metro via Tretyakovskaya Station, and you will find yourself around five minutes' walk from the museum, with signposts to guide you from the metro. It is also possible to walk from the hotel in around 30 minutes, crossing Red Square and the Bolshoi Moskvoretskiy Bridge, taking in some of Moscow's most impressive vistas on the way. The walk will take about 40 minutes.
