Opened in 1991 as the first western-standard luxury hotel in Moscow, the Radisson SAS Slavyanskaya has become a landmark in its own right, and has contributed significantly to the development of the surrounding area as one of the most prestigious business communities in the city.

Within walking distance of a number of interesting sights, including the famous Arbat pedestrian precinct, with its street performers, souvenir market and huge number of outdoor cafes and bars, the Slavyanskaya is also very close to Kievskaya Metro Station, on the city's Circle Line, giving fast and easy access to almost every corner of Moscow. Kievskiy Station, just five minutes' walk from the hotel, is also the terminal for the express rail link to Vnukovo Airport, with a journey tisme of less than 40 minutes.

Sheremetyevo Airport, just over 30km from the hotel, takes around an hour to reach by car, and considerably longer by public transport. Domodedovo Airport, which also has a rail link to the center, can be reached in just over an hour by public transport, or slightly longer by car. Other mainline stations are reachable by taxi in less than 30 minutes.
Local sightseeing
Although the area directly surrounding the hotel is mostly occupied by government buildings and modern business developments, it is just a short walk across the Moscow River to Arbat, Moscow's celebrated pedestrian precinct, which was once the bohemian heart of the city and continues to attract visitors and locals with its thriving street life and copious open-air bars and cafes.

On your way there, you cross the recently built Bogdan Khmelnitskiy Pedestrian Bridge, and pass the spectacular Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the second-largest of the "Seven Sisters", the Stalinist skyscrapers that dominate the Moscow skyline.

Kiev Station, right next to the hotel, is architecturally one of the most impressive in Moscow, with a particularly notable roof covering the platform, designed by the great Russian civil engineer Viktor Shukhov.
