Which visitor attractions are located near the hotel?

Peter I Hotel

It is a short walk from the Peter 1st Hotel to nearly all of Moscow's top visitor attractions, including the Bolshoi Theater, Red Square, and the Kremlin.

In the immediate vicinity of the hotel (under five minutes' walk) there are several lesser known sights of interest. At the northern end of Ulitsa Petrovka, the idiosyncratic Moscow Museum of Modern Art has a good collection of Russian avant garde art from the 1910s and 1920s. On the opposite side of the street, the Verkhopetrovskiy Monastery is one of Moscow's oldest and has survived almost unaltered since the 17th century, although it is not in the best condition.

Also close to the hotel are the small but moving Museum of GULAG History, and the Sandunovsky Baths, Moscow's oldest and most luxurious public bathhouse, which is worth visiting for its stunning interiors alone.
