How do I get from the hotel to the Tretyakov Gallery?

It is possible to get to the Tretyakov Gallery on foot from the Peter 1st Hotel in around 30 minutes, but it is probably easier to take the metro from Teatralnaya, around seven minutes' walk from the hotel, and travel south on the dark-green line one stop to Novokuznetskaya. Leave the metro via Tretyakovskaya (the interchange station) and it is about 400m on foot to the gallery, with the route signposted.
