As well as being an architectural landmark in its own right, with stunning Art Nouveau facades, the Metropol Hotel is within a few minutes' walk of Red Square, the Bolshoi Theater and the Moscow Kremlin. The hotel is also ideally situated for exploring the narrow streets of Kitai Gorod, within the bounds of Moscow's medieval walls (reconstructions of which can be seen next to the hotel).
