The Metropol Hotel is approximately 35km from Sheremetyevo International Airport, which is situated to the north-west of downtown Moscow. While taxi or transfer is certainly the most comfortable way to reach the hotel, the Aeroexpress rail link is probably the fastest option.
By taxi
The journey by taxi from Sheremetyevo to the Metropol will take around one hour, and official taxis charge around $60 for the trip. If you prefer, you can book a transfer with a driver to meet your flight here.
By train
The Aeroexpress rail link runs from Sheremetyevo Terminals D, E and F to Belarus Rail Station in downtown Moscow. Trains run daily every half hour from 5am to 12.30am. The trip takes 35 minutes, and standard adult tickets cost around $11, with discounts for young children, family tickets and first class tickets available. Then, take the metro from Belorusskaya Metro Station, and travel south on the the dark-green line three stops south to Teatralnaya Station, which is less than five minutes' walk from the Metropol Hotel.
By bus
There are also bus services running from all terminals at the airport to Rechnoy Vokzal Metro Station in the far north of Moscow. Services run roughly every ten-minutes from 5.30am to 12.30am daily, and cost $1-2.50 depending on the speed of the service (30 to 60 minutes). From Rechnoy Vokzal, travel south on the dark-green line nine stops to Teatralnaya, which is a few steps from the Metropol.
