One of a number of hotels owned and managed by the Administration of the President of Russia, the Arbat Hotel is located in a preaceful coutyard on a side street just off Ulitsa Arbat, the legendary street that was once the center of bohemian Moscow, and is now a thriving pedestrian precinct, with street performers, an open-air souvenir market and numerous bars and cafes. The hotel was built in 1960, and since 2004 has been undergoing reconstruction and refurbishment.
The hotel has just over 100 guest rooms and suites, all of which have been recently renovated and refurbished. Simple in style, they are all spacious and comfortably fitted, with a reasonable range of amenities including air-conditioning and complimentary wired Internet access. The Arbat offers guests a comprehensive range of business services, and also has several well-equipped conference halls. Other features of the Arbat Hotel include its pleasant summer cafe.
The area surrounding the Arbat Hotel is rich in history, and Red Square and the Kremlin are also within walking distance or a very short metro ride away. The hotel is particularly convenient for the Pushkin Museum of Fine Art and the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, both of which can be reached in under ten minutes on foot. The proximity of Smolenskaya Metro Station means that it is also very easy to reach the Moscow Expocenter and Crocus Expo by public transport from the hotel.
