The Akvarel has 23 comfortable rooms over its five floors, all with an excellent range of technical amenities including complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the property. Rooms are decorated in an elegant French style, while the Akvarel's corridors are lined with watercolors by local artists that give the hotel its name (akvarel is Russian for watercolor). The Akvarels attentive staff are professional and provide high-quality service, going out of their way to accommodate guests' requirements. The hotel provides a full range of facilities, from daily newspapers in three languages (Russian, English, and French) to organization of business meetings, which can be held in the Akvarel's in-house meeting rooms.

Due to its size, Akvarel cannot offer the range of amenities that its larger rivals can (for example, there is little working in the hotel late at night), but instead guests can enjoy a genuinely intimate atmosphere and the type of very attentive, personalised service that even the best larger hotels are unable to provide. Moreover, the Akvarel is one of the very few places offering affordable accommodation in what is probably Moscow's most fashionable district.
