The Aeropolis Hotel is a modern mid-range hotel located on Leningradsky Prospekt, one of Moscows main highways and part of the road from the Kremlin to Moscow's largest international airport, Sheremetyevo-2.
Built for the 1980 Olympic Games, the Aeropolis was fully reconstructed in 1997, and many rooms have since undergone further renovation to offer international-standard three-star accommodation. The Aeropolis Hotel has over 150 guestrooms in various categories, all of them bright and clean, with simple modern furnishings. Services at the Aeropolis are not extensive, but the hotel's staff cover the basics efficiently.
The area around the hotel is best known as the home of FC Dinamo, one of Russia's oldest and most famous football teams. It is mostly residential, and features some fine examples of Stalinist neo-classical architecture. There are two metro stations within ten minutes' walk from the hotel, and the journey-time to Red Square is around 20 minutes. Although the Aeropolis is located on one of Moscows busiest streets, hotel rooms are quiet, thanks to soundproof windows, and guests can escape from the bustle of the city in the park at the back of the hotel.
