Moscow Champions League Final: Frequently Asked Questions
Why is there so little space available at hotels in Moscow? Due to several years of under-investment and a huge annual increase in the number of travelers coming to Moscow, the city's hotels have been struggling to meet demand for the last several years. May is one of the busiest months in any year, and the sudden influx of an estimated 30,000 football fans has put an unprecedented strain on Moscow's hotel industry. |

Is there really no other hotel accommodation on offer? At Moscow Hotels, we consider ourselves very lucky to be able to offer these rooms on the Georgy Chicherin. We really have exhausted all other options in the city. While we are getting a very few cancellations for the period, there is absolutely no guarantee that more will come through, and prices are likely to be three or more times higher than on the cruise ship. |

Do I need a visa to travel to Moscow for the Champions League Final? On 5 May 2008, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces a visa-free regime for the period 17 - 25 May 2008. If you do not have a valid visa for your trip, you will be able to enter Russia provided you have the following documents:
- National passport valid for at least six months, and with at least two blank pages
- Original ticket for the match, which must be presented to immigration officials on departure as well as arrival - keep it to the end of your stay
- Completed Russian migration card. If you haven't got a blank migration card yet, they will be available on the plane or at the airport in Moscow.
Please be aware that visa-free travel is only permitted between the dates above, and anyone trying to enter or exit Russia without a valid visa outside these dates is likely to encounter serious difficulties, including heavy fines and possible imprisonment. |

Where in the city is the Georgy Chicherin river cruiser moored? The Georgy Chicherin is moored at the main passenger River Terminal (Rechnoy Vokzal) in the north of Moscow. The location is particularly convenient for Sheremetyevo-2 International Airport, and also convenient for public transport, with Red Square and the Kremlin easily accessible in only 35 minutes. |

Where is the nearest metro station to the ship? Rechnoy Vokzal Metro Station, which is at the top of the dark-green line, is under 10 minutes' walk from the River Terminal. From there, it is only 25 minutes' journey time to Teatralnaya Station, right next to the Bolshoi Theatre and just minutes' from the Kremlin and Red Square. |

How do I get to the ship from Sheremetyevo Airport? To reach the Georgy Chicherin from Sheremetyevo-2 couldn't be easier. You can either pre-arrange an airport transfer, which will take around 20 minutes, or use public transport, which is almost as fast. From outside the main exit of the arrivals lounge, there are several bus and minibus services (including No. 851) running to Rechnoy Vokzal Metro Station. Tickets cost from 15 roubles (about thirty pence). The journey will take around 20 minutes, and the metro station is under ten minutes' walk from the River Terminal, where the Georgy Chicherin is moored. |

How do I get to the ship from Domodedovo Airport? Domodedovo International Airport is located to the south-east of Moscow, over 50km away where the Georgy Chicherin is moored. To get there by pre-arranged transfer will take at least an hour. The journey by public transport is simple but time consuming. Take the Aeroexpress rail link from the airport to the centre. Trains run hourly from 7am to 12am, and run to Paveletskiy Station in the city centre. Journey time is 45 minutes. Tickets can be bought in the arrivals lounge, and cost 150 roubles (about three pounds sterling). From Paveletskaya Metro Station - connected to the mainline station - take the dark-green line to Rechnoy Vokzal Metro Station, at the northern end of the line. The metro journey will take around 40 minutes. |

How do I get to Luzhniki Stadium from the Georgy Chicherin river cruiser? To reach the Luzhniki Stadium for the final, you can either pre-book a transfer, which will ensure that you and your party arrive at the stadium in style and in plenty of time for the game, or take public transport. From Rechnoy Vokzal Metro Station, under ten minutes' walk from the hotel, take the dark-green line ten stops south to Teatralnaya Station, and change to the red line from Okhotniy Ryad'. Travel a further six stops south to Vorobyovy Gory Station, which is only a few hundred meters from the stadium. Follow the crowds from there. |
