The Peter 1st Hotel enjoys a superb location in the very heart of Moscow, minutes' walk from the Kremlin and Red Square, but on the relatively secluded Neglinnaya Ulitsa, a historic side-street running north from the Bolshoi Theater.
The closest metro station, Teatralnaya, is just over 5 minutes' walk from the Peter 1st, and is at an interchange between three of Moscow's major metro lines, giving superb access to all corners of the city. All Moscow's mainline railway stations can be reached by taxi within 30 minutes. Being in the center of town, the Peter 1st is not particularly convenient for Moscow's airports, and it will an hour by taxi to get to Sheremetyevo or Domodedovo. |

The Bolshoy Theater, just a few minutes' down the road from the Peter 1st Hotel, is a glorious neoclassical edifice that houses one of the most celebrated musical theatres in the world. Renowned for its muscular dancing style, the Bolshoy Ballet was once the pride of the Soviet Union and, although ballet and opera companies suffered from chronic under-funding in the 1990s, the theater is now undergoing a massive regeneration project that hopes to inspire a resurgence in artistic standards.
Both Red Square with sights including St. Basil's Cathedral, the Lenin Mausoleum, and GUM shopping arcade and the Kremlin, Moscow's political and spiritual center, are under 15 minutes' walk from the hotel. |
