About 1.5 kilometers from the hotel is the Tretiakov Gallery, one of the world's largest museum of Russian art. Originally the private collection of the merchant Pavel Tretyakov, the works were given to the city of Moscow in the late 19th century, and the collection was further bolstered by appropriations from private collections after 1917. Today the museum houses the world's largest collection of Russian art, icons, paintings, etc.
About 10-15 minutes' drive from the Ozerkovskaya Hotel is Red Square, the central square of Moscow. Red Square has been the heart of Moscow and subsequently Russia for hundreds of years. The square is surrounded by some of Moscow's best-known buildings, including of course the Kremlin and St. Basil's Cathedral. |
