Nearest metro: Dmitrovskaya
The Brighton Hotel is situated on the edge of a small park in a residential district just north of Moscow's historic center.
The nearest metro station, Dmitrovskaya, is about 20 minutes' walk from the hotel, and from there it is only 11 minutes' journey to Borovitskaya, right next to the Kremlin. Guests will also find that taking taxis from the Brighton Hotel into the city center is not expensive.
The nearest mainline station to the hotel is Belorussky, which is roughly 3km from the hotel and can be reached by taxi in 10-15 minutes. Moscow's other railway stations are all within 30 minutes' drive of the Brighton Hotel. The hotel is conveniently situated for Sheremetyevo Airport, which is just over 20km from the hotel, and can be reached by car avoiding Moscow's downtown traffic. Guests can also take advantage of the Aeroexpress rail link from the airport to Savelovsky Station, which is one metro stop or less than 2km drive from the hotel. Vnukovo Airport is around 30km from the Brighton Hotel and Domodedovo nearly 50km away. Guests should allow 50-70 minutes to reach the former, and 70-90 minutes to reach the latter. |
 | Local sightseeing |
The area around the Brighton Hotel is not rich in visitor attractions, although guests may be interested to explore rambling Timiryazevskiy Park, formerly the estates of the influential Counts Razumovsky in the 18th and early 19th centuries. The fine neoclassical palace at the centre of the park has long been home to an agricultural college and is closed to the public, but visitors are free to wander the many overgrown alleys and rides, and admire the ruins of numerous follies and monuments.
Also conceivably of interest to some enthusiasts and within fifteen minutes' walk of the Brighton Hotel is the Central Museum of Aviation and Cosmonautics. This rather dated museum has a wide collection of memorabilia and technology from the heyday of Soviet innovation, and also has a well-stocked model shop next door for those who wish to build their own MiG at home. |
