Where in the city is the hotel located?
The Akvarel Hotel is located in the very centre of Moscow on a quiet side street about 150m from Tverskaya Ulitsa, the city's busiest central thoroughfare.
Which is the nearest metro station?
The nearest metro station is Teatralnaya, part of a three-station interchange next to Red Square, which joins the red, green and dark-blue lines. From the Akvarel it is about ten minutes' walk. For a fee metro map, click here.
How do I get to the hotel from Sheremetevo Airport?
The easiest way to get to the hotel is certainly by taxi or pre-ordered transfer. The drive should take between 40 minutes and an hour. Another possibility is to catch one of the marshrutki, or minibus-taxis, which leave from near the exit of the arrivals lounge every five to 10 minutes and take 20 minutes to reach Rechnoi Vokzal metro station. Trains run direct to Teatralnaya, which is around 10 minutes' walk from the hotel.
How do I get to the hotel from Domodedovo Airport?
While the most comfortable option is undoubtedly taxi or pre-ordered transfer (the drive will take over an hour), public transport links to Domodedovo are very good. The Aeroexpress train runs from the airport every hour (every half-hour at peak times), and takes just over 40 minutes to reach Paveletsky Station. From there take the metro direct to Teatralnaya Metro Station (two stops), which is just over ten minutes' walk from the Akvarel Hotel. Late at night and very early in the morning the only public transport option is the shuttle minibus service, which runs between the airport and Domodedovskaya Metro Station. The journey to the metro takes just under 30 minutes, and the metro ride to Teatralnaya (direct line) takes at least that again.
How do I get to the hotel from Vnukovo Airport?
Public transport to Vnukovo Airport is now reliable and efficient thanks to the new Aeroexpress rail link which runs almost hourly from 8am to 10pm. The journey to Kievsky Station takes 35 minutes. From there take the metro direct to Ploshchad Revolyutsii, which is just over ten minutes' walk from the Akvarel. Early morning or late evening arrivals are served by a minibus shuttle service (no. 45) to Yugo-Zapadnaya Metro Station in the far south-west of the city. From here take the metro direct to Okhotniy Ryad (about 25 minutes' ride), which is just over ten minutes from the hotel on foot. The most convenient option at all times is, of course, taxi or pre-ordered transfer. The drive to the centre takes under an hour.
How do I get to the hotel from Leningrad Station, Yaroslavl Station or Kazan Station?
Komsomolskaya Ploshchad Metro Station, which serves all three mainline stations, is only four stops (about ten minutes' journey time) from Okhotniy Ryad on the red Sokolnicheskaya Line (see metro map available here). From here to the hotel, it's just over ten minutes' walk.
How do I get to the hotel from Kursk Station?
From Kursky Metro Station take the dark-blue Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Line one stop west to Ploshchad Revolyutsii (see metro map available here). The Akvarel Hotel is just over ten minutes' walk from the metro.
How do I get to the hotel from Belarus Station?
From Belorusskaya Metro Station take the dark-green Zamoskvoretskaya Line three stops south to Teatralnaya (see metro map available here), which is under ten minutes' walk from the Akvarel Hotel.
How do I get to the hotel from Kiev Station?
Take the dark-blue Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Line from Keivskaya Metro Station two stops east to Ploshchad Revolyutsii (see metro map available here). From here the Akvarel is just over ten minutes on foot.
Where can I park near the hotel?
There is parking space next to the hotel.
Where can I rent a car?
Unfortunately, the Akvarel Hotel does not offer this service.
Where can I change money?
Unfortunately, the Akvarel Hotel does not offer any banking or exchange services on site. There are numerous bureaux de change and ATMs near Teatralnaya and Okhotniy Ryad Metro Stations, and all along Tverskaya Ulitsa.
How can I make international telephone calls?
The simplest way is to use an IP-telephony card, which you can buy in practically all of the city's kiosks. You can also use the Central Telegraph Office at Tverskaya Ulitsa 7. Here you can either use phone cards or pre-pay to make intercity and international calls.
Where can I get Internet access?
All of the hotel's rooms have a high-speed Internet access port for laptop computers. If you don't have a laptop, there are Internet cafes all over the city. The biggest and perhaps most convenient is located in the underground shopping centre on Manezhnaya Ploshchad, which is reachable just over ten minutes' walk from the Akvarel Hotel.
Does the hotel have satellite television?
All of the hotel's rooms are equipped with satellite television.
How do I get from the hotel to the Kremlin?
To get to the Kremlin from the Akvarel, all you have to do is walk down ake the metro from Smolenskaya to Ploshchad Revolyutsii, exit onto Manezhnaya Ploshchad, and it's five minutes' walk to the Kremlin.
How do I get from the hotel to the Bolshoi Theater?
Take the metro direct from Smolenskaya to Ploshchad Revolyutsii.
How do I get from the hotel to the Tretyakov Gallery?
Take the metro from Smolenskaya to Ploshchad Revolyutsii, change over to Teatralnaya and carry on to Novokuznetskaya.
Which visitor attractions are located near the hotel?
The famous Arbat pedestrian street is located 10 minutes from the hotel, while 20-30 minutes' walk along the Garden Ring towards Krimskaya Ploshchad brings you to Gorky Park.
